Within less than one month of Donald Trump being in office after his reelection, a list of banned words for the Nation Science Fund (NSF) was leaked. These words mostly come from Executive Order 14151 - which terminate all mandates, policies, programs, preferences, and activities relating to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility - this was signed on January 20, 2025, Trump’s first day in office. If any of these words are used in a grant application to the NSF, the proposal will be flagged. This list of banned words was released by Dr. Darby Saxbe, a professor at the University of Southern California.
